Your sick or injured pet will be examined immediately upon arrival by our experienced and highly trained staff and will be treated with the respect and love we would treat our own special family members.
We offer a wide arrangement of modern technologically superior treatments and medications not easily found in other hospitals. With the addition of Dr. Patrick Keith we are now accepting surgical referrals. Dr. Keith offers a variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries that your regular veterinarian would typically refer to another city or UGA.

Our Story
Augusta Animal Emergency evolved from the original Animal Emergency Clinic on Washington Road. In 1998, the local veterinarians sold their interest to a private owner. The name was changed and the location was moved to our current address in 2000.
The quality of veterinary care has been expanded over the years and in May of 2007, Dr. George Runnels purchased AAE and took over operations. He has worked hard to maintain an emergency only referral based specialty practice. Maintaining 24 hour care with quality staff is a challenge of leadership and management skills.
AAE is a practice partner with the local veterinarians providing quality service and veterinary care when your regular veterinarian is not available or when intensive critical care is needed for your pet.
