Patrick Keith, DVM
Dr Patrick E. Keith began his education at the University of Colorado, Boulder and gained a B.S. in Biological Science at Colorado State University. He graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Dr Keith has 7 years experience working for specialty referral hospitals and has considerable experience in emergency medicine and private practice. Over the last four years he has focused his attention on learning advanced techniques in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. This has been accomplished by taking multiple advanced classes and working with several different surgical mentors.
Dr Keith now operates a surgical practice and has been providing surgical services for several different hospitals in Colorado and Arizona. He performs a wide range of soft tissue surgery and fracture repairs, corrective procedures such as angular limb deformities, Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (a superior method of stifle/knee repair) and DARthroplasty (Dorsal Acetabular Rim reconstruction: an alternative surgery to improve hip function). He also works for a non-profit organization which provides free veterinary care for Latin American communities and has spent time working in Mexico and Guatemala.
Dr Keith's professional interests are in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine and non-profit work. His personal interests are hiking, camping, kayaking, climbing and travel.
I have come from a broad background of work in multiple practice environments. This has given me valuable experience in general practice, emergency medicine and surgery. It has also given me the opportunity to study surgery under several mentors. The end result is that now I am able to narrow my focus and limit my practice to surgery which has always been my interest even from my days as a student. I decided to move to the Augusta area and work in association with AAE after meeting Dr. Runnels and having a very positive impression of his practice and staff. The added benefit is that I grew up in Georgia and will now be able to spend much more time with family and friends. I look forward to providing surgical services to Augusta, Aiken and the surrounding communities.
